Our time-tested approach to Middle Eastern cuisine has origins as authentic as they come. Our founder came to America with a dream of bringing Mediterranean dining to the masses.

In 1982, Falah Tabahi’s dream became our family’s first Pita Inn location in Skokie.

When the Food’s This Good, Word Travels Fast

It didn’t take long to build a fanbase of customers seeking a dining experience as delicious and healthy as it is affordable.

To better serve them, our family opened Pita Inn Wheeling in 1992, followed by Pita Inn Glenview in 2003, Pita Inn Mundelein in 2013 and, most recently, Pita Inn Naperville in 2018.

From Then to Now

1972

Our founder, Falah Tabahi, arrives in the United States at the age of 20 with just a few dollars to his name.

1982

After years of industry training working at a Mediterranean restaurant, Falah with his wife, Asma open the first Pita Inn in Skokie, IL.

1992

The second Pita Inn location opens in Wheeling, IL.

1997

The Pita Inn Market & Bakery opens in Skokie next to the original Pita Inn location to provide fresh, quality pita bread to our restaurants daily.

1999

Pita Inn Skokie undergoes a remodeling and expansion to better serve the community.

2003

The third Pita Inn location opens in Glenview, IL.

2013

The fourth Pita Inn location opens in Mundelein, IL.

2015

Pita Inn Skokie moves from its original location to a brand new building just down the block.

2016

Zad by Pita Inn opens in the same location as the original Pita Inn Skokie.

2016

The Pita Inn Market & Bakery expands to include a butcher shop and a larger bakery.

2018

The fifth Pita Inn location is built from the ground up and opens in Naperville, IL.

2021

Pita Inn launches its famous hummus in Costco locations across Chicagoland.

2021

Today, our team is busy preparing for Pita Inn hot sauce's upcoming launch in retail stores.

Today, all Pita Inn locations are still owned and operated by generations of the Tabahi family and loved by customers in Chicagoland and across the country.
